Networking session "Recycling as a tool for developing environmental education among young people"

Members of the Republican Public Association "Climate Research Center" from Uralsk took part in a networking session titled "Recycling: A Tool for Fostering Environmental Education among Youth," dedicated to World Recycling Day. The event was organized by the West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University named after Zhangir Khan, represented by its structural division, the Institute of Digital Economy and Sustainable Development (headed by Aizhan Ibyzhanova, Associate Professor and PhD in Economics). Among the guests were: • Almatai Zhumagaziev, Head of the Environmental Department of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan; • Fariza Sultasheva, Head of the Natural Resources Department for the West Kazakhstan Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan; • Specialists from KPO b.v., the company responsible for the development of the Karachaganak gas condensate field in Kazakhstan, one of the largest in the world; Schlumberger environmentalists, a global provider of hydrocarbon production and processing technologies, shared their experiences and results in waste recycling, emphasizing that environmental solutions are not just a trend, but a necessity that impacts the quality of life of future generations. Thanks to the kind invitation of the organizer, the Center's participants presented a scientific report, "Nanoplastics in the Biosphere: From Molecular Impact to Planetary Crisis." The data presented demonstrates that the problem of micro- and nanoplastic pollution is complex and rapidly growing. It is already significantly impacting the biosphere and human health, underscoring the need for further interdisciplinary research and increased attention to this threat from the scientific community and society at large. Following the discussion, the participants noted that organizing such meetings is particularly important in the face of increasingly complex environmental challenges. Such events strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration among specialists and create the foundation for developing more effective and coordinated solutions to pressing issues.
